Stability AI Secures Investment from WPP in Strategic Generative AI Partnership for Marketing and Entertainment

Stability AI has announced a strategic investment and partnership with WPP, the global marketing and communications giant behind agencies including Ogilvy, AKQA, Hogarth, and GroupM. Under the deal, WPP will integrate Stability AI's open visual media models—spanning image, video, 3D, and audio—directly into its AI-driven operating system, WPP Open, to support brand content creation, concept testing, and immersive entertainment production. A joint R&D pipeline will give WPP early access to Stability AI's developing models and workflows.

WPP CEO Mark Read cited an increased annual AI and technology investment of £300 million through WPP Open alongside the Stability AI stake. Stability AI CEO Prem Akkaraju framed the deal as accelerating enterprise adoption of its creative tools, while WPP CTO Stephan Pretorius highlighted the partnership's specific focus on the visual media industry. The collaboration will also aim to deepen talent integration and strengthen WPP's in-house production and studio capabilities.
