Nura Studios Debuts 'Rainbow Hollow,' an AI-Generated Stop-Motion-Styled Dark Comedy Series

Nura Studios has released Rainbow Hollow, its first original series — an adult dark comedy directed by Noah Wagner that mimics the look of stop-motion Claymation but was generated entirely with AI. The show follows Milo, a firefighter who dies and discovers an afterlife community for the well-preserved dead, and was built in roughly seven weeks of simultaneous generation and editing, with nearly all footage created in Seedance 2.0. Wagner co-created the series with Michael Koehler, and the production involved voice actors, a sound design team, and color work — making it a hybrid of AI tooling and traditional craft roles.

The series was produced on Showcraft, Nura's web-based platform for animated episodic production, which handles story, pre-production, layout, animation, editing, and post-finishing inside a single environment built on fine-tuned AI models. Showcraft has been in private beta since Nura's April launch — with testers including veterans from Bento Box Entertainment, Disney, and Pixar — and is scheduled to open to the public in early September. Rainbow Hollow is a co-production with A Work of Ark, and more Nura series are planned through August and September.
