Midjourney Adds Live Style Thumbnails, Improved Inpainting, and Seamless Tiling

Midjourney has rolled out a batch of updates to its image generation platform on alpha.midjourney.com. A new "Live previews" option in the Styles sidebar lets users see thumbnail previews of their current prompt rendered across liked and featured styles before committing to a generation. Clicking a thumbnail immediately generates the image with that style applied.

On the editing side, the inpainting and outpainting tools have been upgraded so that targeted edits affect only the selected pixels, giving users finer control and allowing repeated edits without gradual image degradation. The platform's tiling flag (`--tile`) has also been improved for V8.1 and V8.2 models, eliminating the visible seams that previously appeared between tiled images to produce truly seamless patterns.
