Tripo's open-source model TripoSplat now has day-zero native support in ComfyUI, letting artists upload a single image and receive a full 3D Gaussian splat asset ready for modern 3D pipelines. The integration is available via a workflow template in ComfyUI v0.23.0, with model weights and inference code released under the MIT license on Hugging Face and GitHub.

A key differentiator is TripoSplat's adaptive density control, which concentrates geometric detail where the source image demands it and keeps simpler regions lightweight — reducing file size and rendering cost without sacrificing fidelity on hero assets. Users can also dial the number of Gaussians up or down to produce level-of-detail variants suited to backgrounds, AR/VR, or device-constrained targets. The tool is aimed at stylized subjects such as characters, props, and creative designs, and can also serve as a 3D blocking step to guide downstream image or video generation.
