The global premiere of "Asiri Ilu Awon Osu" (Mystery of Osu Land), billed by its producers as the world's first photorealistic Yoruba AI feature film, was thrown into chaos when a surge of international viewers overwhelmed the Docuth streaming platform on October 5. Viewers in Nigeria and abroad reported being unable to register, log in, complete payments, or access the film after purchasing it, prompting production company Mysterious Tech Studio to issue a public apology and confirm it was working with Docuth to expand platform capacity.

The hybrid production — co-created by Mysterious Tech Studio and Yoruba actress-filmmaker Tanwa Hameed — uses AI-generated or AI-assisted visuals for roughly 80% of its runtime, with the remainder comprising live-action performances and human direction. While the film had already drawn attention as a demonstration of generative AI applied to African-language storytelling, its troubled launch shifted focus to infrastructure: the pay-per-view platform's inability to absorb a concentrated international audience at the moment of peak demand. The studio urged viewers who paid but could not gain access to remain patient while technical issues are resolved.
