Stability AI CEO Prem Akkaraju to Keynote TheWrap's Inaugural AI Creator Day on Sept. 29

TheWrap's first-ever AI Creator Day, set for September 29 in Los Angeles, will open with a keynote from Stability AI CEO Prem Akkaraju, who previously ran Weta Digital and founded Weta Cloud—later acquired by Unity Software for $1.625 billion. The event, presented in partnership with What's Trending, will explore how AI tools are enabling independent filmmakers and creators to produce ambitious work without studio-scale budgets, and kicks off TheGrill conference the following day.

The speaker lineup spans YouTube pioneers and AI-native filmmakers, including Bernie Su ("The Lizzie Bennet Diaries"), Jesse Wellens, DeStorm Power, Taryn Southern, David Bianchi (who recently directed a fully AI-generated music video for Don Diablo in partnership with Higgsfield.ai), and Maverick Maltin (MavGPT). Additional sessions will cover brand partnerships in AI content, the creator economy, and a live look at visual artist Dorothy Pang's AI filmmaking workflow inside CapCut Video Studio.
