Hugging Face and Cerebras have demonstrated a real-time speech-to-speech pipeline that chains NVIDIA's Parakeet for speech recognition, Google DeepMind's Gemma 4 31B for language modeling, and Alibaba's Qwen3TTS for text-to-speech — with Cerebras handling the inference layer to dramatically cut response latency. The modular, fully open-source architecture is designed so any component can be swapped out, lowering the barrier for developers building voice assistants, robots, or other conversational AI products.

The practical stakes are already visible: the same pipeline powers more than 9,000 Reachy Mini robots in production. The collaboration frames the core problem not as cost reduction but as tail-latency stability — reducing the multi-second P95 delays that make voice interactions feel unreliable. Both companies position fast, open inference as foundational infrastructure for the next generation of embodied and conversational AI.
