Honor's 600 Pro smartphone includes an AI Image-to-Video 2.0 feature that generates professional camera movements — including the Hitchcock zoom, bullet-time, and drone-style follow shots — from a single still image. The tool, led by AI engineer Peng Jianteng, is designed to unlock creative potential from idle images such as illustrations, old photos, and designs by animating them with camera motion, character movement, or environmental changes.
The technology is still maturing: Honor acknowledges limitations including character inconsistency during generation, unstable motion, and short clip lengths. The next development phase is expected to focus on greater controllability, longer video generation, and personalisation. Early creative trials with art university students produced short music videos and surreal cinematic concepts, pointing to broader filmmaking applications even as the feature targets everyday smartphone users.
