Higgsfield AI has launched Higgsfield Academy, a free educational platform that gives filmmakers access to the detailed prompts used to produce its 95-minute AI-generated feature film "Hell Grind," which debuted at the Marché du Film at Cannes in May. The curriculum covers the full production workflow — characters, environments, camera movement, lighting, and continuity — and allows users to earn a certification in the company's Cinema Studio platform at no cost.
The move is a deliberate positioning play: Higgsfield frames itself as a tooling and education partner to filmmakers rather than a studio competitor. Co-founder and CEO Mahi de Silva cited industry frustration with AI vendors who overpromised in closed-door studio demos as motivation for "open sourcing" the workflow. The company notes, however, that the prompts are tightly coupled to Cinema Studio's proprietary asset pipeline, meaning visual coherence is difficult to replicate on rival platforms — keeping the educational offering firmly in service of user acquisition.
