Google has partnered with Women in Film India (WIF India), founded by filmmaker Guneet Monga Kapoor, to launch the WIF India × Google Flow Filmathon — an initiative inviting filmmakers across India to create short films using Google Flow, the company's AI-assisted filmmaking platform powered by its Gemini Omni and Veo models. The program is open to storytellers at all career stages and is designed as an experimental creative space where participants can develop original ideas, arrange scenes, batch-edit clips, and layer audio using AI-generated visual tools.

The Filmathon will culminate with the top five selected films being showcased at the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa in 2026, giving participants a path from experimentation to a high-profile public platform. WIF India's leadership framed the collaboration as one that keeps creative authorship with the filmmaker while expanding the tools available to them — positioning Google Flow as a complement to traditional storytelling rather than a replacement for it.
