Frame Rate Oy Launches footagen.ai, an AI-Native Film Workflow Platform Debuting at IBC2026

Finnish production company Frame Rate Oy has unveiled footagen.ai, a platform designed to take productions from screenplay to edit-ready shots while keeping creative control with the filmmaker. Rather than automating decisions, the platform breaks a screenplay into scenes, shots, characters, locations, and props, then routes generation through a node-based workflow where users select models shot by shot, approve creative direction, and retain full oversight. Integrated models at launch include Seedance 2.5, Hailuo H3, Nano Banana 2, GPT Image 2, and Seedream 5 Pro, all surfaced within a consistent production layer intended to survive as the underlying generative technology evolves.

The platform tracks generation choices, credit use, and production provenance — including model, provider, prompt, references, and timestamps — and aims to support C2PA Content Credentials on exports. Project data is local-first by default, with EU-region cloud infrastructure planned for collaboration. Targeted at production companies, studios, broadcasters, and serious independent filmmakers alike, footagen.ai will select its first invited users from a waitlist shortly before its public debut at IBC2026 in Amsterdam.
