Boris FX Acquires iZotope, Expanding Post-Production Portfolio into Intelligent Audio

Boris FX has acquired iZotope, the widely used audio technology company known for its Neutron, Nectar, Ozone, and RX product lines. The deal resolves months of uncertainty for iZotope users after former parent company Native Instruments GmbH filed for preliminary insolvency in Germany earlier this year — an episode that ended with Native Instruments being rescued by inMusic Brands, while iZotope found a separate home.

The acquisition is a natural extension of Boris FX's deliberate push into audio, which began three years ago with the purchase of CrumplePop and has since grown to include Sequoia, SoundForge, and Acid Pro. Adding iZotope's intelligent audio tools for mixing, mastering, music production, and dialogue restoration deepens that portfolio considerably — and keeps both companies under the same Massachusetts roof.
