Beeble AI, founded by a team of AI researchers with no prior film industry experience, is gaining traction in professional production with SwitchX—a video-to-video diffusion model that reconstructs sets and environments around captured actors and performances. At SIGGRAPH, CEO Hoon Kim demonstrated footage from a Korean period drama that used the tool to replace an office space with a period-appropriate environment, with processed shots returned to the crew in roughly five minutes—fast enough to review, adjust, and reshoot on the same day.
The workflow occupies a distinct space between traditional virtual production and fully synthetic text-to-video generation: performances, costumes, and camera movement are captured practically, while almost everything else in the frame is reconstructed by the model in post. Beeble's path to the film industry was unplanned—the company began with a consumer relighting app before VFX professionals began seeking out the underlying technology for production use.
