Adobe is rolling out Premiere AI Assistant, a new chat-based panel coming first to Premiere's beta channel. Editors can instruct it in natural language to handle a wide range of project-level tasks — reorganizing media, syncing multicam angles into a sync map, renaming clips, and even assembling rough edits. Adobe describes the scope broadly: "If you can do it in the Project panel or Timeline, AI Assistant can help."
The tool relies on media intelligence and transcription processed in the cloud, and all actions it performs are written to the undo stack and visible in the History panel. Adobe positions it as useful for editors at all levels, though it acknowledges the feature will mature rapidly through beta. The introduction raises familiar questions for working editors about automation's role in post-production workflows.
