# Infinigen: Open-Source Procedural Framework for Infinite Photorealistic 3D Worlds

_Tool · published 2026-07-13_

Infinigen is an open-source procedural generation framework developed by researchers at Princeton (led by Jia Deng) that produces infinite photorealistic 3D environments, indoor scenes, and simulation-ready articulated assets. The project has expanded across multiple releases — covering outdoor nature scenes, indoor environments, and articulated simulation assets — each accompanied by peer-reviewed papers, including presentations at CVPR 2023 and CVPR 2024.

The framework is aimed at computer vision research and production pipelines that require large volumes of diverse, photorealistic synthetic data. A companion paper, ProcFunc, introduces function-oriented abstractions for procedural 3D generation in Python, extending the system's programmability. All components are documented and open to community contributions.
