# Higgsfield Releases Two Full-Length AI Films—Hell Forged ($500K) and Cali Boy ($2M)—as Industry Proof-of-Concept

_General · published 2026-08-14_

AI video platform Higgsfield has released two fully AI-generated feature films in quick succession: Hell Forged, a 95-minute fantasy action film made by a 15-person team for roughly $500,000, and Cali Boy, a 114-minute crime thriller produced by a 28-person team for approximately $2 million. The productions used a mix of Higgsfield's own tools—including Soul Cinema and Nano Banana Pro—alongside third-party models such as Seedance 2.0, Seedance 2.5, Veo 3, Seedream 4.5, and GPT Image 2. Cali Boy also secured real-person likeness authorizations from four public figures, including UFC fighter Israel Adesanya and MMA veteran Quinton "Rampage" Jackson.

Higgsfield has been explicit that neither film is intended as a commercial release. The goal is to demonstrate that AI filmmaking deserves serious attention from industry professionals—an uphill pitch after Hell Forged's screening at Cannes drew pushback, including a public "Fuck AI" outburst from director Guillermo del Toro. With Cali Boy premiering in New York and both films now available online, Higgsfield is positioning itself as a credibility-building pioneer in AI-generated long-form cinema rather than a box-office contender.
