# Filmustage Adds Scene Breaks & Headings Editor to Streamline Script Scheduling

_Tool · published 2022-09-15_

Filmustage has released two new features — Scene Breaks and a Headings Editor — giving filmmakers finer control over how scripts are divided and organized ahead of production. Users can subdivide a script into distinct sub-scenes with customizable names, numbering, and display properties, and can also merge adjacent scenes when needed. The additions are designed to make the transition from script to schedule more flexible, acknowledging that shoot order rarely mirrors script order.

The updates feed directly into Filmustage's scheduling and budgeting tools, with newly created scene breaks automatically reflected in the strip board and scheduling tab. By enabling productions to map scenes against locations and budget constraints more granularly, the platform aims to reduce friction in pre-production planning for both independent and larger-scale film projects.
